Rd 1: Best Rock Album of the 70's (East Bracket)

Here it is peeps. I had appox. 180 albums nominated for the 64 spots. 100 of the entries were nominated once, hence they were eliminated. Of the remaining 80 there were 35 that were nominated twice so, to avoid some sort of vote off and to keep my personal opinion at bay, I just did them in alphabetical order and what was left didn't get in. Oh and remember two albums that didn't make it because of their release dates were The Wall & London Calling...they qualify for the 80's.

I'm going to put the first round in two different post West & East, just cuz of the size

Beta Region: 1 Pink Floyd - Darkside of the Moon '73 -One of the greatest albums made, period... ~~16 Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac '75~~ 8 Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road '73 Hard to again leave ZZ Top out in the cold, but Yellow was perhaps the highwater mark of one of the greatest pop artists of the early 70's. It's great from top to bottom- even more remarkable considering it was a double LP. ~~9 ZZ Top - Tres Hombres '73~~ ~~5 Meatloaf - Bat out of hell '77~~ 12 Blue Oyster Cult - Agents of Fortune '76 -Bat Out Of Hell was another that my mum played to death when I was a kid, but I hated it then, and to be honest, I still don't care for it now. On the other hand, I am a fan of BOC 4 Jethro Tull - Aqualung '71 -I have to go with this classic over what I personally consider to be one of Floyd's lesser efforts. ~~13 Pink Floyd - Animals '77~~ 3 Kiss - Alive '75 -This was tough... I love Joni, and Court's a great album, but Alive! is a very good live album, and really got these guys of the ground. My mum hated it, lol... ~~14 Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark '74~~ ~~6 Queen - Night of the Opera '75~~ 11 Bob Seger - Night Moves '76 -With all due respect to Queen and their talents, I could never really get into them. I've always had a soft spot for Bob's stuff, tho... ~~7 The Cars - The Cars '78~~ 10 The Beatles - Let it be '70 -No contest for me. I love The Beatles, and never cared much for The Cars... ~~2 The Eagles - Hotel California '76~~ 15 Little Feat - Dixie Chicken '73 -Difficult choice here, as Hotel California's a true classic, but I'm a bigger fan of Little Feat, and Dixie Chicken's possibly their best studio effort. Charlie Region: 1 Fleetwood Mac - Rumours '77 -Rumours is a fantastic album.
